Dyscalculia is a condition that affects the ability to acquire arithmetical skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Dyscalculia learners may have difficulty understanding simple number concepts, lack an intuitive grasp of numbers, and have problems learning number facts and procedures. How can we help?
Dyscalculia is treated using specific educational approaches and techniques, and the sooner the intervention begins, the better. For your child to reach their optimum potential, the sooner the intervention begins, the better. Comprehensive testing is available at our office. Testing will show both strengths and weaknesses and will give a starting point for remediation. Beginning remediation involves creating an internal number line, number sense, and one to one correspondence. For more information on testing and remediation, click here.
